Denisa “Dee” Canales Hoult graduated from the University of Miami in May of 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science and Biology. During her undergraduate career she was inducted into the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the highest honor attainable at the university. An Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Parents Program here at UM, Dee has served as our club’s advisor since 2006 and is currently a candidate for a Masters in Business Administration.
When she’s not working at UM or dedicating her time to our club, Dee runs her own business, Applause Your Paws Dog Training -- a company that focuses on education for canine owners. She has been involved in Miami-Dade’s animal community for nearly eight years through her involvement with the Cat Network’s low cost vaccination clinics and their Trap-Neuter-Release program. Additional, Dee sits on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Veterinary Foundation as Executive Director and donates her experience as a dog behaviorist to Paws4You Rescue, Inc.
A Texas native who now considers herself more of a Florida girl, Dee lives in South Miami with her husband, Sam Hoult, and their three children: Zoe, a Border Collie mix, Oxford, a yellow Labrador Retriever, and Sushi Cat, their Calico cat.
